Morningstar

there she hangs so drenched in life

the Queen enthroned, her rainments aflame

deep purple, orange, blood red hues

promises kept by crystal blue

sweet sultry Empress of the heavens

deign, I pray, now shed your golden tassles

reveal the searing forge of life

spread your lips and see me through

that deep black womb of Night

born again on this new day

mists they tremble with your coming

re-lived to see the Goddess, Sun

I dip my hands in fatted land

cast about the grip of Mother Earth

bejewelled in every peak and valley

gently tracing every hill and gulley

as angels sing their pæons at her feet

and all Creation breathes as one

here waiting on the Birth of Day
